Did you miss the show? Check it out here:
Hello Family!
My son recently asked me on the way to school one day…“Why is Donald Trump so mean and why do we have to stop him from being president?”
We’ve discussed the presidency before as well as who is running and what they believed in…I’ve never said anything to him about Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton in relation to them being mean or not liking people. But now I had to.
I told him that Donald Trump doesn’t seem to like to have people in the country that don’t look like him. As much of a progressive as I am, I was disappointed that I had to talk about one of our parties candidates in a way that suggested that he was biased toward other people because of their race.
Education is the focus of today’s program, as I talk to National Education Association (NEA) President Lily Eskelsen Garcia about the Trump Effect and why we shouldn’t tolerate this. Especially during National anti-bullying awareness month.
Also, did you miss the program on educating our teens last night? If you did, don’t miss my interview with award-winning journalist Soledad O’Brien on her push to Rethink high school. We need to focus on America’s high-school system as well. As always tune in today LIVE from 4-5p ET on WERA-FM 96.7 in Arlington, VA.
