Who knew the latest iteration of “must-see-tv” would include Senate and Congressional hearings? Not only are the people on my Facebook and Twitter timeline grabbing popcorn for a front seat at this weeks’ supposed showdown, but NBC, ABC and CBS in addition to cable shows MSNBC and CNN will all broadcast the former FBI Directors’ testimony tomorrow. Don’t worry CSPAN, you still have my heart.
Speaking of TV, on today’s program, a man who reinvented himself to become a bastion of progressive politics during television’s golden era. The three years after John F Kennedy’s death proved to be a pivotal time not only for Robert Kennedy, but for the Democratic party itself. Author John Bohrer will join me to discuss his book The Revolution of Robert Kennedy: From Power To Protest After JFK to talk about the parallels between the 60’s and today.
For those of you in the DMV area, be sure to check John out at Politics and Prose Friday June 9th from 7-8:30p ET as he talks about his new book. I’m sure it will be a treat.
Special Happy Birthday to my husband. Cheers old man 😉
