Speaker of the House Paul Ryan recently said that in order to get on with the business of Congress he suggested, “All this stuff you see on a daily basis on Twitter this and Twitter that, forget about it”. That would help but only if the Presidents’ Twitter feed was not tied to official statements made by him.
Why does this matter?
Because the President doesn’t just get into twitter feuds with Democrats and Party members. Some argue he, along with his administration are fundamentally changing the way we view our political system. Adele Stan, columnist for the American Prospect and winner of the 2017 Hillman prize for opinion and analysis journalism has been following the Trump administration since his candidacy. She will join me to talk about her analysis of the current administration and the ways in which they are changing democracy in the US. The picture painted is troubling to say the least.
