Hey Family,
As we approach the 100 day mark, I keep thinking about what this administration is ultimately seeking to do and what the implications of those actions mean in relation to the effectiveness of our branches of government, our federal departments, energy, armed services, climate, health, race relations, and countless other subjects, to so many people in the US and abroad. Mr. Trump surely campaigned on changing the climate in Washington. This is certainly one way of doing it.
The fight over the newest Supreme Court justice however, has been one where the decisions made ricochet creating a climate where those in the minority hold no power. If I played chess, the time to capitalize on an opponents weakness would be now.
On the program, Marjorie Cohn, Professor Emerita at the Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, Ca. will analyze why the Neil Gorsuch confirmation is different from any other confirmation to the Supreme Court.
